The new blossoms of bright coloured flowers, the music of chirping birds and the bright ray of sunshine that peaks over the horizon, dawns the new season. We all tend to go into a shape up and detox craze, to get bikini ready for the summer. The change in climates and season can affect our skin and we tend to take our daily face cleanse routines for granted. So kick off your season with flawless skin.
Spring clean with a Korean Cleanse
One of the new sort after evening routines one needs to try, and make time for as it has a number of steps to achieve that flawless perfection. To us the “million-step: Korean skincare regime sounds a bit extreme, but it all boils down to cleansing, exfoliating, treating, intensely moisturizing and applying plenty of SPF during the day.
Step 1: The eye Makeup removal
Remove eye makeup gently with a good remover, Nivea Eye Makeup Remover, because expecting normal cleanser to do a detailed job may leave you with week old mascara on your lashes.
Step 2: Cleanse
The rule of thumb, if you spent 30minutes putting on your makeup, you should spend the same amount of time removing it. Using an oil cleanser, Argan Oil Skin Awakening Cleansing Oil, using gentle circular motions, to clean the skin and to increase circulation.
Step 3: The exfoliator
Exfoliating with a natural scrub like, Bobby Brown Buffing Grains, really brings your skin to its glory days when it was as soft as a baby’s butt.
Step 4: The refresher
We often believe toners are the essential for removing residue and oils left behind by the cleanser, but it is believed that refreshers are less harsh. This step soothes and preps skin to absorb the next step. Try Body Shop Tree Tea Skin Clearing Toner.
Step 5: The essence
This is the most important step, yet it is a mystery to many. It affects skin on a cellular level, speeding up cell turnover rate, which makes skin smoother and brighter. Try SK-II Facial Treatment Essence.
Step 6: The Ampoule
Ampoules are super concentrated versions of essences, and are often referred to as serums and boosters. Clinique Acne Solutions Acne + Line Correcting Serum, helps brighten skin, fading sunspots and smoothing fine lines.
Step 7: The sheet Mask
Sheet masks are used twice a week, to force the skin to absorb nutrients and moisture, try Maskeraide Weather Warrior Sheet Mask.
Step 8: The eye cream
This is self-explanatory product, but the technique is important. Gently tap Shiseido Future Solution LX Eye and Lip Contour Regenerating Cream around the eye area. This lead to better absorption and less tugging and pulling of the delicate skin.
Step 9: The moisturizer
Yes, really another layer, this routine is about layers so your skin feels mummified. Massage Elizabeth Arden Eight Hour Cream, with gentle stroke so it really penetrates the skin.
Step 10: The night cream
Your skin feels like a 6 layer cream cake, but the point is your skin needs to hydrate and recharge overnight, for a moist glow, try L’Oreal Paris Age Perfect Cell Renewal Night Cream.
Intimidated? We all feel a little uneasy when trying new things, but this routine takes 15minutes of your time. The sheet masks and exfoliation is only twice a week, and it’s actually therapeutic to pamper ones face and unwind from midweek stress slumps and refresh and energise the skin. The key is daily nurturing and prevention which eliminates any need for expensive facials. Just like trying Korean stir-fry and liking it, this high maintenance routine is worth a try.
