We all watch trending beauty, makeup and hair videos on TikTok, Instagram and YouTube and trying them out is irresistible.

We all have tried tried few of these beauty, makeup and hair hacks we have watched and some have worked and some were epic failures. On social platforms beauty and fitness are probably the most watched videos, among these is the frozen beauty blender hack. The question is,"is freezing your beauty blender wise?".
Breaking down the hack: You dampen the blender with room-temperature water, squeezes it out thoroughly and freezing the beauty blender and using the ice-cold, hardish to hard sponge to apply makeup. Some vouch by it saying that this gives a smooth finish. But there are a few who are not convinced with the hack.

As a makeup artists I'd like to give my opinion on this. I haven’t tried the frozen beauty blender trick, but the reviews I read on Instagram, clearly show that many have been using this hack and are happy with the results. These results are the immediate photographs or videos of the application, but I don't see photographs of after 2 hour application or after a full day effect. From what I know, foundations are oil-based, and a frozen beauty blender is water. Oil and water just don't mix. Water would make the oil separate. So maybe it looks flawless immediately but I'm sure it would start to crack in the fine lines of the face. The purpose of a makeup sponge or beauty blender is to ensure an even product application. But this gets killed when the water content is high in the sponge. This why a frozen blender is not advisable as the water content in the sponge begins to melt on the makeup, which ends up looking clumsy. Use the blender like it’s supposed to be used by patting down the concealer and foundation gently. Added Some tips ■Soak the blender in room-temperature water and squeeze it out thoroughly ■Wash the sponge with normal water ■Clean it regularly by soaking it in micellar/cleansing water or by washing it with a gentle soap soluti

■Always keep the blender clean
